BWEF's first annual “Walk for Educational Excellence” was held Sunday, November 4 at Colt State Park. The foundation's inaugural fundraiser was a great success, despite being postponed by a day (remnants of Hurricane Noel made November 3 a washout). About 150 people participated in the 1 mile or 5K walks. Live music, refreshments, face-painting and temporary tattoos made it a festive, family-friendly event, which raised money through registration fees, a raffle, and contributions from area businesses.
