7th Annual Drive for Educational Excellence

In a completely rational society, the best of us would be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something else.
- Lee Iaccoca

Dear Friends,

Teachers are the stars of our educational community, at the core of our children’s relationships with learning and success. The Bristol Warren Education Foundation (BWEF) focuses on teacher-led innovative programming for our schools. This is an invitation for you to become part of the constellation!

In support of our mission -- to promote student excellence in our public schools -- our organization provides grants to teachers in the Bristol Warren Regional School District. In this academic year, BWEF is funding $63,000 across 25 teacher-led initiatives in all 6 district schools, including:

• Writer-in-Residence programs
• Best Buddies programs, which seek to create a culture of inclusiveness
• Performance-based integrated learning activities with Trinity Rep and the RI Philharmonic
• Programming promoting emotional health

Our board of volunteers is committed to building on this success during our 10th anniversary year.

We urge you to join us as one of our stars this fall during BWEF’s Annual Drive for Educational Excellence. Please consider a tax-deductible donation that will help bring more of these innovative, world-expanding opportunities to all Bristol Warren public school students. And mark your calendars now for these fun fundraising events…donate, volunteer, attend!

• ‘Thank a Teacher’ teacher recognition program during the holiday and end of school seasons
• Bee a Star, the ninth annual Bodacious Bee – March 11th, 2017
• BWEF Food Truck 5K/10K – May 13th, 2017

The Bristol Warren Education Foundation is a community-led organization dedicated to promoting student excellence in our public schools. Since 2007, as a direct result of your generosity, BWEF has awarded over $360,000 in enrichment grants to teachers and staff in every district school.

With sincere gratitude,

Nicky Piper
BWEF Board Chair

By broadening the fundraising efforts of our all-volunteer community organization,
we hope to be able to provide grant-supported educational activities to as many classrooms as possible.
During the 2016-17 school year BWEF is funding a record than $63,000 in grants — since 2007 BWEF has funded more than $350,000 in grants. With your support, we can bring more music, more science, and more writing into our classrooms.
