Jock Hayes completes a successful five years as Chair of the Bristol Warren Education Foundation
June 30, 2016

The Bristol Warren Education Foundation (BWEF) announces that after five years, Jock Hayes will be handing over his Chair of the Board of Directors role to Nicky Piper. The Bristol Warren Education Foundation is a community-led organization dedicated to promoting student excellence in our public schools.

During Jock’s five years as Chair, he has volunteered his time tirelessly on behalf of the Foundation, engaging with teachers, district leadership and the community as a whole. Under Jock’s leadership, the all-volunteer Board now hosts 500 supporters every year at the Bodacious Bee, organizes the annual Food Truck 5/10k, runs numerous innovative community outreach programs, and has materially increased funding and volume of grants to our public school teachers for curriculum enrichment programming in all of our district’s schools.

At the annual Board meeting last week, the BWEF Board of Directors presented Jock with a bench and plaque to be installed at KMS recognizing his achievements. Jock said “I am genuinely excited for BWEF’s future, the foundation is in great shape and is in a strong position to grow and strengthen its place in shaping the local school landscape.”

Jock will continue to be an active member of the BWEF as it continues its work in pursuit of high-quality public education for all students in Bristol and Warren.

The third Board Chair of BWEF, Nicky has worked in education for over 13 years, and in the non-profit sector for 6. She has been involved with the BWEF since 2011. “I’m extremely humbled and delighted to be able to continue the great work that this organization has done over the last 9 years, and look forward to executing BWEF’s strategic plan as we look toward the future of promoting excellence in our public schools” – Nicky Piper.
